On this particular trip we were graced with the presence of
Pete SR’s new wife Danna, he was recently married. She
is the calmest person I have ever met. Even though she and Pete
dated for over a year, I don’t think she really knew what
she was getting herself into, poor woman. She doesn’t
travel with them much, but when she does, she brings a sense
of relaxation to the family. Along with Danna PJ has inherited
2 younger sisters, to complement his older sister Emmie. The
youngest of which is Olivia, who absolutely adores him, to the
point of being a royal pain in his butt! This is poetic justice,
from what I have been told of the things he did to Emmie growing
up.
You can never know what the future will hold for us. You can
just take the task at hand and do your best with what life gives
you to work with. The task over the last year has been to groom
PJ for a professional career racing against the best this sport
has to offer. Is he ready? My first response would be. No matter
how skilled, and mature these kids are, is anybody ready for
it. Not really, but you do the all that you can to give them
the best chance at success.
Over the last two weeks I have been completely out of touch
with PJ and Pete, because Ponca City and Loretta’s has
terrible cell phone service. I have been keeping up with the
news from Loretta’s on the internet. Mxsports the official
website does a very good job of updating the results on the
net, but Ponca I’m afraid was a total washout.
As I close this out I have found out that PJ has earned the
Motocross A title at Loretta Lynn’s. That’s 4 for
this racing season. He garnered 2 seconds and 2 third place
finishes at Ponca City. Good job my friend, you deserve it.
It doesn’t surprise me though. I have grown accustomed
to seeing him at the front of the pack.
