Buying tires is like going out to eat at your favorite restaurant. Do you try something new? Hoping that it is great, or do you play it safe, and order the usual? Lately, Kenda Tire Company has been like our favorite restaraunt and no matter what we try on their menu we're happy! For this issue we ordered up a big plate of Washougal's in standard compound, they are also available in "Sticky" race compound.
The Kenda Washougal is an intermediate terrain tire with a new triangular shaped knob design to reduce knob flex. The Washougal came away with rave reviews from the EDM test riders, predictable traction over a wide variety of terrain with great knob spacing makes for a excellent all-around tire. The knobs are a tad taller than other brands which equates to a longer life span.
Usually found for less money than your run-of-the-mill tires, the Kenda Washougal is an excellent choice. An adept balance of price, durability and traction.
As usual you will want to test different tire pressures to find what works best for you. We ran the Washougal at 14 psi on the front and 13 out back for hard pack dirt and ran them at 11 and 10 lbs for softer terrain.
Front: 80/100-21
Rear: 110/90-19
