Far from the flash of the supercross world with its huge paychecks, stadium races and contingency programs is the world of Off-Road. Made up of Cross Country and Hare Scramble races, Off-Road racing more than any other, pits riders against Mother Nature as well as other racers. Often racing conditions are mucky, muddy bike thrashing slop fests. Races are generally run for a period of 2-3 hours, weaving through tightly wooded trails. While there are many small sanctioning bodies, the big name in races is Grand National Cross Country or GNCC.

The guys who do this every weekend are just as dedicated to racing as any SX racer you have ever seen. The only difference, fame and fortune is not the beacon of light they can focus on when times are tough. Often a race will finish and all the spectators will add up to 100 or so. Even though most of what we do here at EDM is MX related, we want to acknowledge the other racers/ riders out there. So when the opportunity to get out and meet these guys showed up we jumped at it. it was a beautiful sunny afternoon as I rolled up to the workshop that is home to Team SA. Kenny was outside washing the mud of his bike from the morning ride, these guys ride daily.

I sat down with each of them for about 15 minutes and ran some questions by them. What follows is the transcrpts of those conversations
