In our October/ November issue we took a road trip to Virginia for what turned out to be some serious Pit Bike fun. I had been going on and on to the EDM wrecking crew about the benefits of cross training, that riding other kinds of bikes would promote the development of new skills which could then be applied to normal riding… whatever that may be. While we did have an excellent time on the Pit Bikes, we didn’t bring any home with us and since Virginia is about 10 hours away we haven’t just "popped" in for a ride. Pit Bike I was not able to prove my theory. We needed to look at other potential options of cross-training that lay before us. Mountain biking, for example will help develop bike handling skills as well as provide excellent cardio exercise.

A BMX bike is another excellent choice for bike handling skills but we wanted something with a motor. Throttle control and clutch control don’t come from pedal power. The thing we were looking for was something the crew and I have discussed a few times but never moved on until now, a Trials motorcycle.
