I don't know what is going on, but for some reason with this issue we are seeing some really cool, useful, products. Items that once you have them, you could never imagine a life without them. The next to join this list is the Helmet Drying Bag from Shock Doctor. It's a helmet carrying bag that converts into a helmet dryer designed to keep your helmet smelling clean and fresh. How many times have you wanted to wash your helmet the night before a race or a day of riding with your buddies but didn't because it wouldn't be dry in time. You could always try the old set it next to the heater approach, but this is a potentially dangerous fire hazard. Besides the potential for burning your house down, you might ruin your expensive noggin protector.

The dryer is easy to use. Simply put your helmet in the bag, slide the drying unit into the corresponding slot, select your drying time and walk away. The dryer has the option to use wind or heat or a combination of both. You can also flick the "ozone" switch which removes a claimed 97% of bacteria. Sounds good to us! At EDM we have several helmets we use for bike tests and photo shoots, keeping them clean and fresh is a chore.

After removing the padding from our helmets, we washed them in a sink, including all of the padding, with Simple Green and water. Once they were nice and clean we re-inserted the padding into the helmets then put them one at a time into the Helmet Drying Bag. After about 2hrs. each, each came out bone dry, smelling like it just came off the shelf from the dealer. The cost of the unit is far less than buying a second helmet or replacing your stinky old one. And gear that doesn't stink is always a good thing. Especially when it is so close to your face!!
