AR North America AR610 Industrial Pressure Washer Review

AR North America’s AR610 Blue Clean 1800 psi Industrial Electric Pressure Washer

If you are riding your bike as often as you’d like, you are probably washing it just as much. If you are anything like us, you want to get the washing part finished as quickly as you can without too much effort. While sponge washing is the safest way to clean your ride, a pressure washer is undoubtedly the fastest.

Pressure washers come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and pressure ratings. Prices also vary widely which, as you can imagine, will affect durability. Most run on gasoline but some are powered by household electricity. Typically, consumer gas units have more power than consumer electric units, starting in the 2,000 psi range and going as high as 7,000 psi. Electric pumps tend to start in the 1,300 psi range and top out around 1,900 psi which is more manageable for washing bikes. In our travels we have tried super powerful gas units that feel as if they will blow you off your feet. If you are not careful you will find you graphics on the ground along with the mud you are trying to wash off. Another problem with so much pressure is the potential for forcing water into places it doesn’t belong, like swing arm pivots, wheel bearings, headsets, and cable housings.

We have also used a few household electric units that we wished had just a bit more oomph. What we have learned from the different units we have used is the gas units are obnoxiously loud and can be messy when filling with fuel. While the household/consumer electric models are much cleaner on the other hand and super quiet, they can be delicate and are often not as durable with their plastic connections. If you are only washing your bike once a month you can probably get away with using one of these household electric units. But, if you are looking to do anything more than this, you will likely want something sturdier. We have found just the ticket, the AR610 from AR North America.

Having the ability to regulate pressure is an amazing feature.

Constructed with heavy duty, durable brass hose connections, featuring a Triplex brass-headed pump with ceramic plunger pump and a 1.7 HP 110 volt induction motor which has up to 6 times the durability of a universal motor, the AR610 is sturdy and compact, measuring a mere 13″ H x 8.75″ W x 9.25″, tipping the scales at just over 35 lbs. the 1800 psi Blue Clean Industrial Electric Pressure Washer cut through everything with threw at it.

Brass fittings add to the AR610’s durability.

The AR610, which has easily replaceable valves, a forged crankshaft, roller bearings in oil bath lubrication, is designed for many hours of dependability and simple maintenance. It delivers 2.1 gallons of water per minute, and has an adjustable pressure range of 500 to 1800 psi. It has a thermal switch which shuts off when the pump temperature gets too high, high temperature is the number one enemy of pressure washers. The AR610 comes complete with a trigger gun that has a 36 in. split lance for fast foaming and power cleaning, Built in pressure gauge, automatic safety valve with low pressure by-pass, and injector kit with low pressure soap. The unit also includes high/low pressure adjustable spray head with pencil and fan jet settings to adjust pressure on demand (0-60°variable spray pattern, high-low adjustment for soap application), 25-foot high pressure swivel hose and 35 ft power cord with GFCI to shut down the power supply in the event of electrical ground failure.

The waterproof power switch is a nice touch.

We have been using ours for over two months now and really dig the adjustable pressure and quiet motor.
