Inaugural Motorcycles of Charlotte Wellspring International Outreach Charity Ride

Motorcycles of Charlotte, the authorized BMW-Ducati-Triumph-MV Agusta dealership located in Matthews, North Carolina will host the inaugural Wellspring International Outreach Charity Ride on Sunday, May 2, 2010.

Wellspring International Outreach is a not-for-profit foundation, established by photojournalist Neale Bayly and retired educator Maria Fitzgerald, manned by volunteers from all over the world. It’s primary objective to raise awareness about the abandoned children of Moquegua, Peru, to help fund Sister Loretta’s Hogar Belen, the orphanage there, and to continue the efforts the late Rev. Giovanni Battaglini (Father Gio) began many years ago.

The event will stage from the dealership, at 12999 East Independence Blvd. Matthews NC 28105, with check-in beginning at 8:00 A.M., and the first riders out at 9:00 A.M.

The ride will offer three separate guided rides to the mountains and back, with all groups stopping for a complimentary buffet lunch at the Quality Inn, 2400 South Sterling Street, Morganton, North Carolina.

John Brannagan, Parts Manager at Motorcycles of Charlotte, will lead the DualSport/Adventure Bike Group; Bill Kniegge, of Blue Strada Tours, will lead the Sportbike Group; while Al Roof, of Wellspring International Outreach, will lead the Cruiser/Touring Bike Group.

The ride will end with festivities at Ed’s Tavern, “Charlotte‘s Neighborhood Bar“, 2200 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28203

A $29.00 minimum contribution per person is requested by those wishing to participate in the event.

Contributions can be made by cash or a check, made payable to: Wellspring International Outreach at event check-in, or on-line, via PayPal at www.wellspring-outreach.org, then click on the “YourHeart“ tab. Simply print out your receipt and bring it with you to check-in the morning of the ride.
